the first wedding I was attending to and I actually can rememeber (1st wedding was my uncle and auntie when I was 3..)

and hey, it was a traditional Austrian wedding so I had to get all dressed up in TRADITIONAL AUSTRIAN "DIRNDL" ... see explaination below


the wedding couple is right in the middle of "Hirschal" which is more internationally known as "Jägerbomb" or "Flying Hirsch" ...

and of course there had to be some to be the last to go...
great wedding, great party!! who is next?????? I think I like it.. ;)

FIRST SNOW THIS YEAR

ok.. everyone.. listen up.. it snowed!!!!!! on 05-09-2007 we already saw snow in our garden!! I really hope that that means an AWSOME winter this year!!!!!!

and there is still snow on top of the mountains ...

Danielle & Roger go Bad Gastein

welcome to Austria Danielle and Rog in August 2007!!!! since those 2 had some difficulties in going on their planned trip to South Africa (long story) they decided to come and visit me in the beautiful Austrian Alps... and I think they enjoyed themselves a fair bit... walking every day with great view and soaking in the thermal bath just next door..

on the weekend we went hiking together and enjoyed "Poserhöhe" ...




















soooo cute... like real Austr-i-span-i-aliens .. ;)


















and of course we had to have a real Austri-a-lien BBQ in my garden...

and on our last day together we took a fabulous trip upt to 2.600 meters of altitude to "Hagener Hütte" and enjoyed the view of Sportgastein on 1 side of the mountain..

... with its delicious "Kaiserschmarrn"...













... and the views of the lakes in "Kärnten" on the other side of the mountain...













.. Sportgastein really is a fairy-tale-land.. the mountain that you see here is what we conquered that day... soooo proud!!

Bad Gastein Summer Impressions

Hike up to Stubnerkogel and down to Angertal, coming back via Erzherzog Johann Promenade.. what a lovely day in August 2007...

another lovely day in August when Conny and I took off to go to Astenalm and met Robert on the way.. great home-made cheese and juice was waiting for us.. and hey, we did not drink Schnaps!!

Homecoming 22.06.2007

besser spät als nie.... for everyone who was "still" waiting for some pics from our Homecoming Day 2007 in Krems.. here they are...

my first homecoming eva went great! sort of good weather, sort of good food, sort of good speaches from IMC crew .. but defenitly good was to catch up with a lot of people I hadn't seen in years... and of course the party afterwards in Qstall!! see pics ;)

I guess I liked the Homcoming brunch at Müllner best on Saturday morning... great weather, really good food, best views and lovely people! just a view were missing!! but I'll see you guys next year!!

Paragliding with Hels

Yeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaa.. check this out!! I went paragliding!!!! and hehehehe.. I made Helena come too!! she was not too excited about the plan but she did have a great time in the end! we went on a tandem flight with Lois the Salzburgian Paraglide Pro!! he's great!! and knows a lot about his stuff!! both of us were about 15 minutes up in the air ... I wished I could upload the videos that Lois made during the flight! it's fun.. I don't stop screaming... nooooo.. just once when he decided to play roller coaster!! ;) seriously.. I would do it again.. no doubt!!

Rafting and Canyoning

what a day, what a day... I went on an "Adventure Day" to Abtenau with Silvia (ex-collegue at Wombats) and Tom (ex-boss at Wombats) and Joe (the American) which we offer at the hostel. it was a great experience although I had already participated in this tour once when I went to Abtenau with Uni 2 years ago! still, the country side is amazing!! we went canoe-rafting on the Salzach, starting from Werfen. I could not believe it, when Moe (one of the founders of Alpin Sports) told us that we would go 2 and 2 in the canoes and he would go in his own canoe... it was pretty exciting! still the wild water level went only up to 2 which is pretty "easy" to deal with! but the szenery is just great! I would recommend it to every one!!


in the afternoon we started our canyoning tour into the "Almbach Klamm" and had a great time! we had to jump from 4 1/2 meter high rocks and swam through 6 degrees cold water... brrrrrr.. freeeeeeezing, I can tell you!! I hope that Joe gets to send some photos from the trip soon cause he brought an underwater camera and took photos on the canoe and in the canyon.. I can't wait to get them!!

More mountains...

a pic of my mountain bike trip to Prossau... it is a valley next to Gastein valley and there are no cars allowed.. it's so "natural" .. very nice!!

and then Verena came to visit and we made a hiking trip which turned into a slight "climbing" trip.. it was fun but we were quite exhausted when we finally arrived up at the mountain hut "Poser Höhe" after 1 hour to get to the track and 1 hour up the mountain! but the view was great and the very famous "Kaiserschmarrn" tasted delicious!!

and that was after coming down from the mountain... check out the sign... it says "Alpin Way into Paradise"... well.. I'm not so sure about that...

Back to Bad Gastein

Ys , yes! I'm back to Bad Gastein! after picking up Kerstin from hospital on the 2nd of May (she got a new ligament put into her knee) we had 1 more week of holiday and enjoyed a beautiful spring in Bad Gastein! we also went to St. Johann, Salzburg and Kitzbühel for day trips and tried to get a nice tan.. at least I tried.. Kerstin preferred to get burned ;) .. no.. that was mean.. she did get a great tan.. but after being red for a little while because she refused to put sun screen on...
so yeah! Kerstin than left last tuesday and since then I have to entertain myself by working, hiking and mountain biking! yesterday we went for my first mountain bike trip and I loved it! the weather was so nice and we went along this awsome track throught the woods up on the mountain where we had great views ... just have a look at the photos! I went with Gert and Gina (a girl from Colorado that stays at the hostel) . it was a great day but my legs were very very soar yesterday evening! but I guess that's normal!







isn't it pretty???? I love it!! so nice an green and clear blue skys! couldn't be any better!!!

Visiting Friends & Relatives

my holiday is over! what a pitty! but it was pretty nice to be off work for a month! and it was more than good to be back in Spain! 10 days was not really enough but at least I had time to catch up with everyone! really! everyone!! I was so happy to see all of them! Unfortunately I was a bit lazy when it comes to photos and didn't take photos of everyone I met... still here are some pix:



It was great to speak Spanish again to eat Tapas! I missed it! and I again do! after being back in Austria for 3 weeks already!

Barcelona was a bit disappointing this time because it was just toooo busy for me! sooo many tourists .. not so good! but I had a great time with Danielle and her sister and even went for a daytrip up to Blanes to see my ex-flat mate Neus who moved up there with her boyfriend! I fell in love with this town! and I have to say I'm a bit jealous! They have their own house which is 2 minutes to the center and 5 minutes to the beach! soooooo nice!! I had the best day there!!! and Neusita's boyfriend is great! I'm sooo happy for her!!

I then went on to Madrid and was surprised sooo much by the city! It's becoming prettier and prettier! they changed lots of streets into pedestrian zones and some squares got done up! it looks great! I had a great time and spent a lot of money shopping! Of course I stayed at Cat's and it was great to see that the hostels are still doing fine! and of course it was nice to see everyone in Madrid as well!! Ana and Zinia will come and visit me soon in Austria!! As well as I hope Jaime takes his family up to the Austrian Alps soon!!! it's defenitely worth a visit!!

Miss K goes Spain for 10 days

ayayayayayay.. spain here I come!!!!!

I have 1 month off from work because of the change of seasons and guess what Miss K is going to do???? well... of course!! I'm going to see my spanish friends!!!!!!

so... my question??!! is anyone going to be in Barna or Madrid between the 16 and 26 of April???? if yes, please contact me!! I can't wait to eat tapas and to drink Havanna 7 con Coca Cola in a doggie discoteque at 7 o'clock in the morning ;)

Scando visitors in Bad Gastein

Linn and her boyfriend O\rjan came to visit me in Bad Gastein! They stayed for 4 days and we had a ball!! I hadn't seen miss L for more than 1 year and it was sooo good having her back! And I finally got to know her great boyfriend O\rjan who indeed is the BEST! I'm happy that I got to know him!! He's great!! We went skiing and partying and it was unbelievable how many Norwegians came together in the tiny little town.. I once went out with 5 Norwegians, and they even were from the same city!! I had a great time!! And I can't wait to go to Krems in a couple of weeks to visit Linn and to enjoy the beautiful Wachau valley in spring time!! I'll upload some fotos then too!!

But hey.. first of all I have 1 month of holiday!! Soooooooo good!! I'll fly to Spain for 10 days and spend some time with my family and then in Vienna! On the 7th of May I'll be back in the mountains!!
